The Process
It takes a minimum of two years from start to finish.
Step 1
Tree has to be dead two years before the process even starts
Step 2
Off to the sawmill to be sliced
Step 3
Lots of sanding in this step
Step 4
Into the freezer for a minimum of two weeks to kill any remaining bug eggs or larvae
Step 5
Wood is given an ID number based on wood type
Step 6
Feet are added for Pedestal, or hardware for Lazy Susan
Step 7
Turquoise is added in natural cracks and crevices and held in place by a high quality resin
Step 8
Piece is give a nice multi-layered coat of sealant and polyurethane
Step 9
Pieces are allowed to cure and dry in a dust controlled area
Final product
It's a long process, but each piece is a beautiful original at the end.
